We all want a crystal clear and blemish-free skin. We invest a lot of time and energy to make our skin look fresh and clear but is that good enough?
Only an acne-free and smooth skin is not our ultimate goal because certain other stubborn things need to be taken care of!
And one of that is blackheads which is nothing but a great menace to your skin. Most of the times we notice blackheads in our nose and trust me it is really difficult to get rid of those.
Therefore I am going to discuss blackheads and will also suggest some tips and products which will help you in dealing with this menace. Let's begin...
What Are Blackheads?

Blackheads are basically clogged pores or hair follicles that collect natural oils of our skin (sebum), dirt, skin cell and bacteria. When these pores are open to the air, they undergo oxidation and then the surface turns black and thus results in blackhead.
We notice that most of the time we get blackheads in our nose. Why is it so?
Well, blackheads can be seen in our nose because the nose has multiple glands and therefore it accumulates more natural oils than the rest of our body.
Blackheads in our nose are very difficult to get rid of because they are trapped inside the pores and therefore they cannot be removed by just scrubbing or washing away with a normal cleanser.
Although blackheads can be very stubborn there are certain procedures and remedies that you can use to get rid of this menace.
Here are some home remedies you can try to get rid of blackheads from your nose.
1. Honey And Lemon Mask
Honey naturally moisturises the skin. It also possesses antibacterial and anti-oxidant properties which hydrate the skin pores and help in the removal of blackheads.
Lemon is full of vitamin C, potassium and calcium which helps in reducing oiliness and clearing the blackheads, acne scars, blemishes, and dark spots.
Procedure
Take 1/2 teaspoons of honey and mix it with half a cup lemon juice. Mix it well and make a paste. Apply this on the nose (you can apply this to your entire face as well) and leave it for 15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Use this twice a week.
2. Egg White Mask
Egg contains protein which has skin-toning qualities that help in shrinking big pores and hair follicles. When pores tighten, the blackheads get pushed out to the skin’s surface and are easy to remove.
Procedure
Take 2 egg whites and two teaspoons of lemon juice. Whisk the egg whites till they are totally frothy and add the lemon juice and mix well. Now apply this mixture evenly all over the nose. Allow it to dry and place a clean tissue over it. Apply another layer of the mix on the tissue and let it dry.
You can also apply a third layer in case the problem of blackheads is acute. Once dried, gently pull off all the layers of the tissue along with the nose blackheads.
Wash the face properly using warm water to neutralise the raw egg smell. Use it at least twice a week for best results.
3. Baking Soda and Honey Face Mask
Baking soda is an exfoliator that removes dead skin cells while neutralizing the pH of your skin. Honey acts as a brightening agent that helps your skin to look fresh.
Procedure
Take two tablespoon baking soda and two spoons of honey. Mix it well to make a paste. The apply it to your nose and leave it for 15 minutes. Wash it off with cool water, and use this mask at least once a week.

4. Green Tea and Aloe Vera Face Mask
Aloe vera eliminates acne-causing bacterias and also stops excess oil production and thus helps in unclogging pores and reduce blackheads. And even green tea is also very effective in unclogging pores and absorbing excess oil.
Procedure
Take 1 tablespoon aloe vera gel and 1/4 cup of green tea. Steep the green tea and allow it to cool down, then mix with the aloe vera gel to make a runny paste.
Apply to the face with a cotton pad and leave on for 20 minutes, before rinsing off with cold water. Use 1-2 times a week.
5. Orange Juice and Gelatin Face Mask
Orange juice is full of skin-friendly vitamin C, as well as other beneficial antioxidants. The citric acid in orange juice also clears dead skin cells from the top layer of your skin. Gelatin helps in absorbing excess oils from clogged pores and thus reduces blackheads.
Procedure
Take 1/3 cup fresh orange juice or pulp and 1 tablespoon gelatin powder. Microwave one-third cup of water for 15 seconds and add gelatin powder to it, then the orange juice. Mix until blended, then put it on your face without touching your eyebrows or eyes.
Let the mask dry completely for around 15 minutes, then peel off gently. Rinse with cold water. Do this 1-2 times per week.
