Who does not want to have glowing skin? We all do, but due to several factors, the natural glow of our skin fades away.

With time we also start getting prone to several skin problems. So in this article, I will talk about how to restore the glow of your skin naturally.

Before that let us analyse some factors that are making your skin look dull:

1. Pollution

Polluted air contains a host of tiny particles, including the likes of dirt and sulphur dioxide, which create free radicals on your skin

It’s these free radicals that can damage collagen (cue premature wrinkles) and stimulate pigment production over time.

When your skin’s tone and texture are uneven, it diffuses light and looks dull.

2. Stress

Stress plays a large role in making your skin dull.

As being stressed causes an increase in cortisol( a steroid hormone which helps the body to regulate stress), which can affect blood flow to the skin and affect skin repair. And thus you eventually lose the glow of your skin.

3. Lack of Sleep

Sleep is the body's restorative time when your skin cells repair themselves and regenerate.

So if that period is shortened or altered, skin cells cannot perform at their optimum. And hence you start losing your natural glow.

4. Improper Diet

Well, the proper diet is the foundation stone to everything. So if your body is not getting sufficient nutrients it affects your skin too. It is very necessary to have sufficient Vitamin and protein intake in your food.

Because if these nutrients are missing in your diet, your skin does not get proper nourishment and thus can lose its natural oils. Therefore you get dull skin and other skin related problems.

Apart from these, there are certain other lifestyle-related problems which contribute to making your skin dull.

How To Make Your Skin Glow Again?

If you are craving to get glowing skin then make sure you take a balanced diet.

One of the best ways to get naturally glowing and healthy skin is to follow a fibre-rich nutritious diet. This is because skin impurities are one of the most common outcomes of digestive problems.

Follow a well-balanced diet of protein-rich foods like fish, white meat and brown rice combined with the goodness of vegetables and fruits containing vitamin C and you will be more likely to get glowing skin.

2. Water

Water is a great skin-toner and will definitely be on the list of must-haves for healthy and glowing skin.

Water purifies your skin and gets rid of your body’s toxic impurities. Drink at least 2 litres of pure water a day to keep your skin hydrated and glowing.

Just get a good water purifier to prevent contaminants from entering your body, and you are all set!

3. Get Rid Of Stress

One of the most important things for glowing and healthy skin is to lead a life free of stress.

Excessive stress makes you dull from the inside and that reflects on your skin as well. Your skin looks dreary. This is because stress results in excessive oil production, which in turn results in whiteheads.

Relax and get 7 to 8 hours of sleep every day and your skin will look better sooner than you think!

4. Proper Exercise

Physical activity is one of the key factors to get fresh and radiant looking skin.

Working out increases blood flow through your skin and also regulates oxygen flow, both of which are important for your skin cells.

Sweating helps in naturally detoxifying your body through the skin pores and is important for a good metabolism rate. It also helps you relax and lead a stress-free life which ultimately results in you having a glowing, healthy skin.

5. Exfoliate

Skincare to some might only revolve around cleansing, toning, and moisturizing. However, most of us miss out on one of the most important procedures for glowing skin- exfoliation.

Exfoliation removes dead skin cells, and that is one of the main factors in giving your skin a fresh and vibrant look.

You can exfoliate your skin using some simple natural ingredients like oats, orange peel or lentil powder which remove all the impurities from your skin and give it a flawless look.
