Evening snacks can be heavy if you don't give them proper thought. They can increase your weight easy peasy. But evening snacks are also important. They restore your energy after a tiring day so that you can kick-ass till dinner. We bring you our favourite evening snacks healthy, nutritious and delicious.
Fruit Chaat
It is one of the easiest snacks to make with minimal raw material required. Chop up some seasonal and colourful fruits in a bowl. Click a picture. Upload the drool-worthy delight and savour it. I bet you will love it and make it again and again.
Upma
A nutrition-packed snack that can be prepared in minutes is this one. Add plenty of veggies to make it look colourful and take your health a notch higher. This might have the reputation of a patient's food but pair it up with Achaar (Pickle), and you'll go crazy for it.
Yoghurt with Fruits/ Vegetables
Yoghurt is my personal favourite and you can pair it up with either veggies or fruits as per your taste. Mix some chopped veggies like cucumber, onions, tomatoes, etc. with chaat masala in yoghurt or enjoy it whipped with some cut-up fruits.
Cucumber
We lied for fruit chaat, this is the easiest evening snack there can be. Cut up a cucumber into long pieces, sprinkle some salt and chilli powder on it, and voila, your healthy snack is ready. It tastes yummy and gives you the lowest possible calories.
Bhel Puri
Indian's favourite street food can be made at home very easily. Just mix rice puffs with some finely chopped onions, tomatoes and chillies. Add some lemon juice and top it off with coriander. This power-packed snack will energize you for the rest of the evening.
Hard-Boiled Eggs
If you are looking for a protein source for that extra energy in the evening, you can rely on boiled eggs. Low in calories but high in protein. They also keep you filled for a longer time. All you have to do is boil some eggs and add pepper and salt to it.
Fox Nuts:
Fox nuts or Makhana (common Hindi name) are crunchy, nutritious and delicious snack option. You can fry them with very little oil, add some masala of your choice or nothing but salt and it will be a rock concert for your palate.
Seasoned Chickpeas
Chickpeas are one of the best vegetarian snack options. They are rich in protein. Season some boiled chickpeas with masala or salad dressing, add some chopped veggies if you like and you have the perfect snack for yourself.
Besan Chilla
It is my go-to dish when I'm hungry as it is easy to make and fills you up easily. In a bowl, make a runny paste of gram flour and water, add finely chopped onions, tomatoes, chillies etc. Sprinkle some salt and cook it on Tawa(frying pan) in little oil. Small savoury pancakes are ready to serve.
These were some of our favourite snacks. Try them out and share with your loved ones. 😊
