In Conversation With Shweta Verma

In this world of cut-throat competition among the content creators on Youtube and Instagram, very few come up with their real self and win hearts. Shweta Verma is one of those content creators. She is a renowned YouTuber who makes videos on various topics under the umbrella of beauty and lifestyle. Here is a quick conversation I had with her to peek a little more into her professional life. Let's see what she has to say...

1. Why did you choose to become a Youtuber?

I have always been “let's Film this”, “click me while I do that” child even before YouTube. Me and my siblings used to shoot videos while acting and dancing. Eventually, my close friend suggested me to start my own channel and share this on a bigger platform. I have always had a genuine interest in everything I upload on YouTube.

2. When and how did you get your first brand collaboration offer?

It happened a few months after I started my channel, two international clothing brands contacted me for a long term collaboration at the same time. It all started with this and since then, I have never looked back.

3. How do you engage with your audience?

I am mostly active on my Facebook page, Instagram, Snapchat and even ask my YouTube audience to join me there to stay connected with me on a more personal level. On YouTube, I make sure to start with a little chat at the beginning of videos to keep my audience engaged and entertained.

4. Who is your favourite Youtuber and why?

Shreya Jain, who has a beauty and fashion related channel. I feel she is very very Hardworking, I have been watching her videos since 2010 maybe and she comes up with a newfound energy every time.

5. What would you do if you were not making videos?

I would still be Shooting random videos, maybe not uploading them on YouTube Haha!

I am also an MBA Student so maybe I would have continued working in the same sector.

6. What is your whole day like?

I work in the private sector, so after waking up, rushing to office, and keeping up with everyday office work, I still try to be active on social media.

I also attend brands and bloggers meet if any. I make time for family and friends as well, shoot for YouTube and Instagram. It is always a jam-packed day.

7. Apart from Youtubing, what are your hobbies and interests?

I love dancing, drawing and DIYs, my room is full of DIY room decor. Also, I am a big foodie so I love to explore all kinds of food joints in the city.

8. What are the things you are not proud of?

I feel I am not quite hardworking and ambitious, which I believe I should be. I sometimes procrastinate and the deadlines keep piling up which I'm trying to change.

9. Are there any new projects on the way?

Yes, a lot of beauty brand associations and also I am trying my hand in acting by doing some short films.

10. Finally. Where do you think you will be in the next few years?

Well, I manage to be more ambitious each day. I'll definitely be living a more independent life, and travelling more. One thing I am sure about is that I am working for my mental satisfaction and peace, which is my ultimate goal in life.
